School Council
At Langley Mill Academy, we believe in a pupil-led culture where children take on key leadership roles. We wholeheartedly value the work of our pupil leaders where we are moulding leaders of the future and developing 21st Century citizens. The council meet with school leaders to represent all pupils.
The Langley Mill School Council will express their thoughts and opinions on key areas of school. This Summer term they have contributed to the following:
- Our school rules
- Routines at Langley Mill Academy
- Summer Fayre organisation and stall choices
- Visits and experiences for the next academic year
- Charities that Langley Mill Academy will support
- Meeting visitors and contributing to 'pupil voice'
Recruitment process
Our Teams are made up of pupils from across school who have the confidence and eloquence to share the opinions of their peers on how key areas of our school life are lead. We currently have a Langley Mill Academy council members who are voted in by their class and year groups through a democratic process as well as representatives from the school's Sustainability Team and Diversity Ambassadors. Interested applicants complete a form having first read and understood the person specification and code of conduct before then sharing their strengths and opinions with peers.
