Langley Mill Junior School

School

Langley Mill Junior School caters for boys and girls, aged 7-11 years of age.

At present, there are approximately 250 children on roll. We have ten classrooms, an inclusion room, a nurture room, a hall and an open area with kitchen.  All classrooms have sound fields and interactive whiteboards to ensure learning potential is maximized.

LMJS is set in pleasant grounds with a large playground equipped with musical instruments, a stage and outdoor classrooms as well as courts for various outdoor games. Our extensive field wraps around the school building with areas for quiet contemplation, nature observations as well as play.

Class teachers are responsible for the children’s welfare and delivery of the curriculum. Work is planned jointly, in Year Teams of two teaching staff with close liaison, communication and support from our teaching assistant team. During planning, Year Teams share the preparation of work, drawing on different experiences, knowledge and expertise to ensure work is relevant and well matched to meet the needs of the children.  In this way, we are able to utilise the strengths of a large staff team and enhance the quality of learning and teaching here at Langley Mill junior School.
