Welcome to Langley Mill Junior School

Live, Laugh, Learn.

Our Values and Visions

Langley Mill Junior School is dedicated to ensuring every child attains their full potential, both in terms of attaining academic excellence and achieving social responsibility.

We achieve this by continually striving to eliminate all barriers to learning, enabling children to feel safe and secure in a vibrant, high-quality learning environment.

At Langley Mill we have high expectations of our children, instilling within them core values of respect, hard work, good behaviour and a passion for learning and future aspiration. We embed the Values for Life in Modern Britain of democracy, rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance in our curriculum.

Langley Mill values the school-home partnership as essential in helping pupils achieve their best. By working and communicating effectively with parents and carers, we ensure students’ achievements and needs are recognised, celebrated and met in a positive, inclusive learning environment.

Welcome to our community.

We are currently working with the Derbyshire Educational Psychology Team on a project linked to behaviour and our values and visions.  Recently all stakeholders worked on, and then voted to create a school motto.  This is "Live, Laugh, Learn."   From this we have worked with the School Council to create six "We are" statements.  These are:

Live - We are respectful and safe.

Laugh - We are caring and friendly.

Learn - We are enthusiastic and responsible.

Further work linked to this is currently on going.

We have recently been visited by Ofsted.  Please find the letter to parents and link to the report here.
